This has got to be the most amazing example of Shadow puppetry I have ever seen!

I don't know how many people are involved but it looks like its just the one guy.

Steampunk Computer mods [Aug. 8th, 2007|10:53 am]
[mood |geekygeeky]

Alright, this guy is my new hero! I've always loved the idea and look of Steampunk and this guy's work is amazing! The best by far is the converted LCD monitor but the keyboard is quite amazing too!

Now if only I had a spare monitor hanging around...

Oh yeah, and the follow through to actually finish anything!

Biodesil [May. 9th, 2007|03:30 pm]

You know, the more I read about it the more the idea appeals to me. What I am referring to is making one's own biodiesel. That's right making the go-juice for your car instead of paying $1.26+ a liter for gasoline.

I started hearing about biodiesel a while ago as I'm sure many of you as well but honestly I had no idea about what it was nor how it was made. I made the assumption that it involved may complex steps similar to the refining of crude into gasoline. Well, turns out I was wrong...to a point.

I ran across the website for Collaborative Biodiesel Community who has posted a rather comprehensive DIY for making the fuel. It is mind blowing to think that it is so easy to make (comparatively of course to refining gas)! So I wonder if its something that could be done locally. I don't want to sell the stuff - I was just thinking that a co-op of some sort to spread the work/time/cost of the process and at the same time lessen the gross amount we all have to pay for fuel.

Now, before you all start jumping up and down, I'm not going to be starting my own refinery any time soon, just wanted to start a conversation.

High Tech Snooping - Low Tech Solution. [Jan. 2nd, 2007|04:39 pm]

So I don't know if any of you know but as of January first of this year all US passports that are issued will have an RFID tag embedded in them that will enable the remote receiving of all the passport's information without your ever knowing that it is being done. Kind of makes you glad you live in Canada eh? Anyhow, I was reading WIRED mag online and came across this lovely little solution.

Just goes to show; if at first you don't succeed, try a bigger hammer!

Finally a reason to get an ipod! [Dec. 13th, 2006|09:00 am]
So I get an e-mail newsletter called the Wired Gadget Lab from Wired Magazine and amongst the usual drool worthy tech that they review, this week they had an article on this lovely little ipod accessory.

OMG. I can just see what this will do for the public transit system! Evey time I see one of those white ear-budded pod people I'm going to have to assume that they're "plugged in" to their music...

Art thingy... [Oct. 20th, 2006|08:13 am]
As I have been told, I have posted this thingy in my journal. Now...who wants some bits of art from me? I guarentee that these will become collector's items and be worth enough to retire on seeing as I am a world famous, highly respected artist...in my mind...when I'm lonely.

The first five people to respond to this post, will get some form of art, by me, about them. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort.

as with most memes, if you sign up, you have to put this in your own journal as well.
also, if I don't know how to physically deliver something to you, best let me know how to get it to you, or I will have to be more ... creative in my delivery methods (which might be fun all by itself).
